Common Malfunctions and Solutions for Head-Shaking Lamps

Common Fault One: The computer-controlled moving head light bulb does not light up.

1. Open the tail of the light body to check if the bulb is white or black. If either of these two phenomena occurs, please try replacing the bulb and test again.

2. Open the two outer shells of the light body, where a trigger is installed on the lamp column. Check if the trigger’s wiring is blackened; if so, replace the trigger.

a) Trigger damage

b) Bulb circuit power line breakage

c) Relay does not engage or poor contact at the contacts

d) Ballast coil short circuit, etc.

Common Fault Two: The computer-controlled moving head light bulb flickers.

1. Check if the bulb is white, black, or swollen. In any of these cases, please replace the bulb to avoid damaging the stage lighting equipment.

2. Check if the fans on both sides of the bulb are operating normally. If there are any malfunctioning fans, please replace them immediately.

3. Please open the two outer shells, and in the layer between the gobo and color wheels, there is a white temperature control component. Check if it is burnt out (if it is broken, it will cause the bulb not to extinguish).

4. Open the two outer shells of the light body, and at the heat dissipation window at the tail of the bulb, over time, it can clog the airflow path. If the heat dissipation window is already covered with dust, please clean it immediately (the best cleaning frequency for this heat dissipation window is once a month for optimal results).

Common Fault Three: The computer-controlled moving head light is completely unpowered.

1. First, check if there is a problem with the power cord.

2. Check if the fuse in the power base has blown.

3. Open the bottom panel of the light, check if the ballast is powered, and whether the internal switch connection lines have signs of falling off.

4. Open the two outer shells of the light body, and near the position of the bulb, check if the temperature control has malfunctioned.
